May 2014 Newsletter: BLIA Welcomed summer intern, Alaina Larkin

The Dean’s List student, who resides in Clifton Park, is entering her senior year at St. Lawrence University this fall. Alaina is majoring in mathematics, economics and multiple languages (Spanish and Italian) and has a keen interest in geology/hydrogeology. She has recently completed a geology class at Skidmore which she took “for fun.”
Delaware Engineering, PC sponsored the position for the July and August. “We always look for opportunities to make a real difference in the community that aligns with our business ideals which include environmental issues,” said Mary Beth Bianconi,
Senior Project Manager at Delaware Engineering. Alaina’s projects included assisting with water sampling, data analysis, public education, information gathering, membership and social media. “This is a perfect match,” said Dave Pierce, BLIA VP for Lake Management. “Alaina’s courses of study, knowledge of and affinity toward lakes, and general enthusiasm are most welcome. We are all volunteers, and an extra set of hands dedicated to lake quality issues and association business is most welcome
