October 2017 Newsletter: Historic Tour

Forty four visitors took the recent tour which
included the interiors of several historic buildings around the lake. Suzanne Bishop, Joanne DeVoe, Rick Reynolds (Town of Ballston Historian) and John Scherer (Town of
Clifton Park Historian) joined Gini on the committee. The event was a huge success. HISTORY IN THE MAKING --- BLIA has an interesting request from Town of Ballston Historian, Rick Reynolds. He wrote “Every year, I do a Christmas tree for the BHBL Women’s Club Festival of Trees at Town Hall. This year, at least partly because of the success of the recent historic tour, I am going to do a tree with a Ballston Lake theme. It will include some of my own old and new pictures of the lake but I want to include some “things” too. Looking for ideas of other things from the lake or the area around the lake that would be good to be placed on this unique tree.” You can e-mail Rick Reynolds with your ideas and unique artifacts. While there has never been a security problem, he suggests that no item of value be offered. His e-mail is
rreynol7@nycap.rr.com. Can’t wait to see our tree; we’ll send out an e-blast with the festival details.
